Hey all,
I'm a transfer applicant, and I applied to a couple of schools (WUSTL, Columbia, UChi) and for WashU at least, I've sent in virtually everything. However, besides the essay, is there any other way I can really demonstrate how much I want to go there? All the schools I've applied to are ones I feel really strongly about, and would LOVE to attend, but I really don't know how to convey this message strongly to the admissions comittiee. My essay was very praiseworthy of the colleges ,but I'd like for them to know there's even more desire than what was in my essay. Any tips? A letter, phone call, etc?

i read somewhere that if you call the admissions office, they have a file for you & that can help in that they know you're interested? i'm not sure about this though. can someone confirm it?

I try to email admissions people every once in a while, asking questions either about my application, about the application process, or about the school in general.

Don't know how much that acutally helps, though.

Very selective schools usually pay little or no attention to expressions of interest. This might be important to lower tier schools that are concerned about yield.

If you are transferring, I assume you are interested in a specific major, department, or program. Often the department heads and faculty will be involved in the admissions decisions. You should already have visited the departments and met with faculty members. That way both you and the college will have a good idea if your interest and abilities match.

I visited about 2 years ago, so I do'nt know if they kept track of that ( i got afolder w/ my name on it, so im guessing yeah) but hmm...
