Reasons to go to NC State

I need help convincing my mother that I should go to NC State instead of UNCG. I got into both but I really would prefer to go to NC State. There is no financial reason why my mom wants me to go to UNCG I just need to show her that it is the better school. If it helps my major is in applied mathematics.

  1. It's in the research triangle (area probably has the most STEM stuff of the entire state)- more career opportunities
  2. Higher prestige/resources than UNCG - better education/career opportunities

Compare the two cities and talk about what you like about Raleigh more compared to greensboro.
If you have to, use some tears about how you have to make your own decisions at some point in your life.

The two schools are fundamentally different environments. Just make your case for what you want out of the living environment. Out of curiosity, do you live in Greensboro now? That could be part of your mom’s concern.
