I want to get into a good college and I have a little bit of a problem here... I want to do medicine in college, and I already have a humanities letter of rec, but I now need a math/science. So here are two teachers I cud ask-
Teacher a
Taught me AP chem junior year, had solid a in class, dunno AP score. I asked lots of questions in his class but he connected better with the guys (I'm a gal btw) so I didn't interact much with him. At best, I think ill get a semi generic letter.
Teacher b
Taught me AP stats sophomore year, had solid a in the class, got a five on the AP exam. He loves me, I've intercted with him a lot, and he definitely knows me better than the previous teacher. He also retired this year, but he agreed to write me a letter of rec.
Both teachers are good subject wise (med requires stat knowledge). Which one shud I pick?

Is it really a question? Teacher B, hands down! Whichever teacher knows you as a person best is MUCH better.

OP, do note that some schools specifically ask for recommendation from Junior or Senior year teachers. I encourage you to check the schools websites.

All right learninginprog, I will check!
kayb92, thanks for your opinion. I just wasn’t sure if colleges dislike it if you submit recs from sophomore year teachers…
