Okay so I have this teacher, and his english is not that great and he doesn't know my name, but he will still write me a recommendation letter b/c he makes me fill out a form and stuff. my question is, will his rec hurt me? At this point i don't care if it doesn't help me, i just need 2 rec letters so that i can even apply to a school. Maybe i could submit a really good supplemental rec from a non teacher to help?

“he doesn’t know my name”. Your teacher doesn’t know your name? That’s already a red flag, at least to me. Are there really no better teachers you can ask for a recommendation from?

Maybe if you get a recommendation from this teacher, he may just write a generic recommendation based on the info you provide him, which may not hurt you, but I doubt it’ll help much. If this really doesn’t bother you, then it may be ok.

You don’t have anyone else? Your counselor is reccomending tht you chose someone who doesn’t even know your name?

Yeah he doesn’t know my name, he’s one of those teachers who doesn’t really get to know students, and also he is a foreigner so his english is kind of bad lol

@Sugarbubbletea my counselor has nothing to do with this

That’s the problem. Your counselor should have something to do with this. You should be in their office asking what the best course of action is for you.
