reccommended credit load to go along with research

Would 17 credits be too much to do along with undergraduate research (not for credit) during the semester? I would really like to get involved in research (preferably for work study, but doesnt really matter to me) with a lighter load, but i think that currently with my major (BME/E&M minor) i wont be able to take any less than 17 credits per semester.

Are you an incoming freshman? 17+research is a lot but I would say a decent number of B BMEs manage it. That said, if your courseloads in high school were not very heavy (ie 3+ AP classes at once?), I would be careful, especially if you’re taking classes in areas you’ve never been exposed to before.

you’re gonna find out that it’s gonna be very difficult/stressful with that courseload + research but it’s definitely manageable and people have done it in the past (some have succeeded and some haven’t).
