received confirmation letter but no admission id number

<p>i just received my application confirmation letter in the mail... but after reading it like 10 times, i still can't find the admission id number... i thought it was supposed to be included in the letter? or maybe not....</p>

<p>and also, it says that my teacher recs are missing and to send them asap... but they sent the letter jan7th and i think one of my teachers waited until ~dec 24th to send them out so isn't there a chance that cmu just hasnt processed them yet? and if they do eventually receive and process them, how am i supposed to know with no id number to log onto the site with? so confusedddd</p>

<p>lol yeah, i looked through it pretty quickly as well because i was excited to get it and then I didn’t find it so I was literally like … wut? </p>

<p>Then i realized it’s in the third paragraph of the first letter in the pile (the same letter that tells you what’s missing)</p>

<p>Also, when you sign on there’s an updated list of things, and it shows my teacher recs as the 7th Jan when I sent most of them in November…</p>

<p>wait am i just being ■■■■■■■■ lol, but i only got two sheets of paper, one was the letter and the other a pink card that tells you to send the missing items.
and the letter says "dear __, we have reviewed blah blah and then it lists the missing items
and then theres this comments section thats blank for me…
and then another paragraph that says “please forward any missing materials asap…”
and then the letter ends…
am i missing a sheet of paper? or did they just make a mistake… it just seems kinda unlikely… idk maybe i’ll just contact them</p>

<p>I have no idea! Maybe they’ll send your login information in a separate letter? </p>

<p>My first paragraph said that they received my application, the second said something about campus security and the law, the third was about interviews and visits, the fourth was bolded and said “applicants will be able to check on thier status, etc, etc, and then a number was given.”</p>

<p>Under all of that was a box that listed everything they requested and what they received.</p>

<p>I got like 5 documents: another sheet about alumni interviews, how to decipher the website (where am i in the process), a sheet about my impressions about the school (what the…), a green sheet that said ATTENTION: your admission ID number is in this packet, another sheet about financial aid deadlines, and a postcard about student blogs.</p>

<p>As far as I remember, the admission ID number is highlighted in yellow on the application receipt letter. You can’t possibly miss it.</p>

<p>i emailed them and they said they made a mistake… cus i only got two sheets of paper… so strange. w/e i might just call them and ask them to list what they received.</p>

<p>I still have not received my confirmation letter…maybe it’s because I live in Hong Kong and it takes more time…</p>

<p>Does the confirmation letter only come be snail mail? Will one receive email confirmation?</p>
