Received mail from Cal student store...accepted already?

^^ has spoken

I thank @fluxrad for freaking out and calling attention to Berkeley

…which proves that they are spying on us!!!

…I bet UCI and UCSD admissions people are on here giggling at us

yeah, go fluxrod! @irvine you are so right—i knew they were reading these posts (ahem) and you know they are “giggling” and eating pizza and drinking beer too. well, that is what i would be doing if i worked at CAL in the admissions office.

I’m still a little stressed out, it might have been for actual admitted students and the rep wants us to believe it has nothing to do with actual decisions. aaaaaaaaaaaah i’m going crazy here making baseless assumptions now

Thanks for clearing things up myBerkeleyApp. I didn’t think my small thread on CC would snowball into such a large affair. Never underestimate the power of the internet.

how is this a large affair

@ixr
haha, you rattled the cages of the great and mighty admissions officers. go ixr! or Go Bears!

check post #39

I mentioned College Confidential when I called the Student Store… But idk. Guess we’ll just have to wait the ten days. That’s not so bad.

Out of the 4 friends I asked only one got this letter. i wonder why?

Post edited!

@ixr,
I know you’ve already kinda gotten your answer, but I got that flyer as well I think on Monday Apr 16th, and I was the only one between all my friends who got it. The next day I called the college at Cal that I applied to and one the staff of that college followed up with what was going on. She informed me that they have mistakenly mixed the freshmen admit and “some” transfer “applicant” lists together, and she was really stressing on the word “applicant.”

I understand that you might be freaked out. I am very freaked out too and am trying to figure out what batch I was in.

I too got that flyer and initially got excited only to realize it prolly was a mistake :frowning: I live in Sacramento so don’t think distance had anything to do with the accidental mails. It would be sad if I don’t get into UCB (I already have been admitted at UCD so have a fall back plan) since I like UCB’s program much better!

@alphaalchemist
Maybe it has something to do with the college that we’ve applied to:
Are you by any chance a chem major or have applied to college of chemistry?
Also can I ask what is the first letter of your last name?

^ I got the letter and I applied to the college of chemistry for chem e. my last name starts with C

I sent my tap contact an email asking about it last night. I’ll see what he says and let you guys know

@chemfreak1

I did apply to the collg of chemistry (chem engg). And the 1st letter of my last name is P. What about yours?

@alphaalchemist and vincent vega

I am a chem major and the first letter of my last name is Y. C, P, and Y: that pretty much covers the entire range of alphabet. What we all have in common that my friends who didn’t receive the letter don’t is that we all applied to the same college!

One of my friends didn’t receive the flyer and we both applied to the same college (College of Natural Resources).

I wonder what that means… r we (who got the flyers) on the transfer applicant list or on the transfer admitted list? I guess we’ll just have to wait until Friday to find out…

so has everyone who received the letter gotten in? I did
