E-mail from UC Berkeley?

I received two of the exact same e-mails from UC Berkley about financial aid this morning but have yet to be admitted, did anybody else receive these?

"We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu. Every student receiving financial aid at UC Berkeley has a MyFinAid account. You will need your CalNet ID to access MyFinAid.Throughout the year, MyFinAid is where you will find updates to your financial aid award summary, as well as messages from us about payment status, any changes in your eligibility, and any financial aid requirements, such as forms we may need you to submit. MyFinAid is your primary source of information about updates to your financial aid package. We recommend that you check MyFinAid regularly."

I received the same email but my application is also still under review.

I wonder if everybody got it…

According to some posts in this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1118222-official-uc-berkeley-2011-transfer-acceptance-rejection-thread.html
not everyone got the email.

I did get it.

I got it…looks like everybody is getting though…=/

I guess all we can do for now is wait and speculate lol

i got 2 identical emails as well. i saw a thread from last year which says that everyone who got the email from financial aid got in…

Lots of excellent people also got in but got no email.

I also got the two identical emails this morning. Turns out there were a lot of people who didn’t get the email last year and still got in so I don’t think it’s a bad thing if you didn’t get it. I have no idea if getting the email is indicative of acceptance though but hopefully it is…

^i’m guessing it is, i didn’t see who did get a rejection if they also got the email. but also, plenty of people who didn’t get the email still got in (i’m guessing they all did file a FAFSA).

Yeah hopefully it is a good thing because you can’t help but get your hopes up…

^Yes, I’ve not seen a single example of anyone getting the email but also being rejected. A ton of people didn’t get the email but were still accepted.

I’m wondering, did the people who got in but didn’t get the email eventually get the same email AFTER they were accepted?

Or did they apply for financial aid at all?

There were definitely admitted students who applied for financial aid and didn’t get the email before decisions were out.

Looking at last year’s thread, it looks like the email was “leaked” the day decisions were out. We of course have to wait another day for decisions…

ok so yeah your question about whether or not they got them later makes a lot of sense and would definitely help put this into perspective.

where do we find out Calnet ID?

^I’m pretty sure you can’t, unless you’ve attended Berkeley previously. You have to wait until you’re officially accepted.

is our cal net id the uc application id and the same we used to create myberkeley with? I cant login in, it keeps repeating the login

^No. See my post above. It’s given to you once you’re admitted.
