Hello, I am now a sophomore in college preparing to fill out the FAFSA for my junior year on January first. My parents recently got divorced over summer 2013. At the time I was over 18 so there was obviously no custody agreement. According to FAFSA, I should fill out the information in relation to which ever parent I've lived with more for the past 12 months...well I have my own apartment so haven't lived with either of them. Now my father makes less than my mother, but my dad is the one ensuring I have enough money for food, books, etc. while my mother does not help me financially at all. In order to fill out the FAFSA correctly, should I just use my father's information or should I be using both parents information? Thanks in advance.
