<p>Any thoughts on a good supplemental text for Mechanics of Materials? Required text is Beer's Mechanics of Materials, 6th edition with the connect plus access. Text has mixed reviews, professor is dry to say the least, so looking for something to supplement the required textbook. </p>
<p>On a related note, any good supplemental texts out there for Modern Physics. Required text is Modern Physics for Scientists and Engineers, by Thornton, 4th ed. Text doesn't have good reviews in general. Professor is great, and has already said will be covering certain areas in depth beyond textbook content and he will have own handouts and such, but looking for ideas to add to personal library. Any ideas?</p>
