Recommend engineering schools I should think about?

Hey everyone, I’m a white male from a competitive public magnet in north carolina with a 4.0 UW/ 5.6 W GPA and a 35 ACT-, 1490 PSAT, taken 8 APs (chem, bio, ush, lang, gov, euro, human geo, stat) and the rest are honors+ with extracurriculars such as scouts (got my eagle and heavily involved with leadership), varsity swimming (likely team captain next year), a minor research project, science olympiad, etc. I’m looking at schools like MIT, stanford, caltech, etc. but those are reach schools for anyone so I was wondering what some good match-type top engineering schools (other than georgia tech) for chemical engineering would be. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Case Western Reserve University is a very good university, especially for engineering. It could be a good match school.

Purdue, UIUC, UMich, and UMN-TC. The last one is mainly for ChemE. You may also think about Northwestern. Your stat is very similar to my D and she got accepted by all schools I mentioned above, some with pretty good scholarships too.

I’m partial to my SoCal universities USC and UCLA for Chemical Engineering, but UC Berkeley and Cal Poly, SLO are top engineering schools on the West Coast, besides the universities already on your list, Stanford and CalTech.

Stanford, USC, and Cal Berkeley are also highly ranked NCAA swim teams.

But, you’re looking at 3 different cultural areas (Berkeley, SLO, and SoCal), but San Luis Obispo is totally chill B-) as I went there out of high school back in the 80’s and sort of got lost in the culture

Nice stats, btw :-bd
