i will be a freshman in the fall and im now contemplating whether i should bring my car to LA. i drive a decently nice car, '04 accord, which probly pales in comparison to what people in USC drive, but if i dont take it with me i'll have to sell it.

i know traffic in LA is terrible and i know parking is difficult as well. so im asking, would you advise me to bring my car or leave it behind and sell it? why/why not?

Are a local, so that you might want to drive home some weekends? If not how many miles from LA are you? Will you live in a dorm your freshman year?

It is quite possible to have a good freshmen experience without a car. Many of your friends will probably have a vehicle anyway. If you don't think you'll be driving that much, paying for parking and insurance just to have the car sit there most days may not be worth it.

One option you may want to consider is Flexcar, which has 8 vehicles on the USC campus. It's a car-sharing program for students and you pay a flat rate by the hour. Because the company takes care of parking, gas and maintence, it can be a lot easier than having a car of your own.
