recommend me some match/reach/safeties?? i am the avg student

hii my name is Marga and I want to go to college, hence I am at this website. problem is, I don't know where I want to college nor am I sure of what I want to study. I am not even sure at what college I want to go too (big, small) ... I have problems with money but I don't think I would qualify at financial aid (83k a year for family, only child)...
I am considering to major in psychology and minor in business or major in journalism... maybe I will go the med school path but I am not very sure. Maybe I will do linguistics.
I am trying to find match/reach/ safeties. Some ideas are Rice, University of Texas at Austin, A&M, and trinity. I live in Texas..

You (and your HS advisor) are the best qualified to sort out a school list. I'd advise getting a Fiske Guide and reading ALL the school descriptions. Make a list of the schools that sound interesting to you and visit some of the websites. Then you (via the US News guide) and the folks on this site can help you classify the schools as reach/match/safety.

I am a big fan of smaller schools, particularly when a student is not focused on a particular area of study. Though small schools typically offer fewer majors and departments smaller than those found at universities, they often provide better advising and better access to professors.

Also, do not assume that you do not qualify for financial aid. Apply for it. I'm guessing you will qualify for some.

4.1 Average :D :D :D
