Recommend some OOS colleges for me!

Hi! I'm from California, so I've mostly been looking at UCs, but I also wanted to apply to some match and reach OOS schools. For California schools, I'm applying to UCLA, Cal, UCSD, UCDavis, and USC.

Here are my stats:
-Asian (Pakistani)
-SAT: 800CR/740M/800W
-GPA: 4.55 (4.0 UW)
-in top 2% of class
-SAT subject tests: 800 Chem/ 770 Math II
-12 AP classes (5s on 4 AP Tests, 4 on 1 AP Test)
-Extracurriculars: president/founder of a club for 3 years, vice president of a club for 2 years, 200+ volunteer hours (with leadership positions), started a volunteer program at the animal shelter, performed in a school play, NHS, take Arabic classes outside of school
-Other: Bilingual (English and Urdu) and learning to be fluent in French

I want to major in neuroscience, minor in International Relations, and do premed. I'm looking for a school with a lot of research opportunities, study abroad options, and school spirit. I'd prefer a school with more than 5,000 students (and a lot of international students, since I'm really interested in different cultures). Academics and a strong premed program are the most important things, but I'd also like a school near a big city with a green campus and a lot of trees. Good financial aid for OOS students is also important.

Please recommend some schools for me and let me know if they'd be a match or reach for me (I don't want to go out of state for a safety school). Thanks!

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Georgetown, Tufts.

Rice University, Stanford (I see you didn’t list them), Brown, Duke, WUSTL, Vanderbilt, Emory, Tufts

What is your budget?

Med school is crazy expensive, so you want to keep your undergrad costs low. Read through the threads on guaranteed merit-based scholarships in the Financial Aid Form. You qualify for a number of full tuition scholarships, and some true free rides.

Emory and NYU have some of the best neuroscience programs in the world. The CBN is located in Atlanta which offers plenty of opportunities for undergraduate research(which is key for getting into medical school)

NYU and Emory are both located near big cities. Emory’s campus is much greener than NYU’s. Both schools are private so consider costs. Medical school cost has shot up considerably and there is no trend indicating otherwise.

Also, University of Washington - Seattle would be an EXCELLENT school. UDub is ranked as one of the best medical schools in the country. UW is a strong research school with a great pre-med program. Also, located in Seattle, UW has a very green campus.

Good financial aid for OOS students is also important.

Unless you’re applying to OOS publics that will give you large merit for your stats, OOS publics probably won’t give you “good financial aid”.

Top privates are often good with FA if you QUALIFY.

Keep in mind that you have to QUALIFY for the amount of FA that you need. How much will your family pay each year? Will you QUALIFY for the amount of aid that you need? Schools that give “good financial aid” do NOT give good financial aid to those who don’t qualify.
