Hi! I'm in a bit of a dilemma with regards to teacher recommendations. The teachers who I have close relationships to and who I think would write great recommendations are all teachers I have had sophomore year. I know I could get a good recommendation from a teacher in my junior year, but my relationship with those teachers was not as personal. I know colleges tend to prefer teachers from your junior year, so should I stick with 2 junior year teachers, one sophomore and one junior year teacher, or just go for the teachers who I think would write me the best recommendations (both sophomore year teachers)?

Are you taking classes again with the sophomore year teachers? Do they work with you in some other capacity (club advisors/coaches)?

If not then most schools will not be too pleased with a rec from them. Really try and stick with Jr/Sr year teachers because they have the most recent observations to make.

is it okay to get a rec from a teacher that you have for senior year since you will only know that teacher for a few months before they write the letter?
also, would it be okay to get a an additional rec from a sophomore year teacher if you think it may help?

Well, one of them is th sponsor of a club I've been in since freshman year. Besides her, I haven't had the teachers since. Thanks for the advice.
