After two years in college, I dropped out and have been traveling/working for the past two years. I wanted to continue my undergraduate education so I decided to submit transfer applications to a few higher caliber schools. I noticed that they require recommendation letters from either an instructor or professor. However, since I was away from school for two years, I have NO professor or instructor who can write recommendation letters for me. Could my employer write one instead? If anyone has some information, please. I would very much appreciate it. Thank you for reading.

Why can’t you contact the professors you used to have? It was only two years ago.

You need to look at the website for each college to see what their LOR requirements are. Most require a prof/TA/instructor, but I have seen a few that permit an employer or other person who knows you.

To econ981: Two years are a long time. I went to a big school; professors don’t know everyone.

To entomom: THANK YOU!
