Recommendation Letters from Online Professors?

hi, I know this probably isn't the best sub-forum to put this, but it's a similar issue...

I'm applying to many summer internships with federal agencies, which usually require letters of reference. I have taken a science course from an online professor this past summer - we had a lot of email communication and I felt I learned much from him. But I have never met him in person.

Should I ask for a letter of reference? Maybe I should arrange a face-to-face meeting first, or just ask for a letter, not sure how this works.

Thoughts?

Hmm…if you’re confident you can get a good reference letter from the online teacher, then I would go ahead and just ask for the letter. It would help if you had met face -to-face, though

Thanks Harambee.

Bump, I’d like more opinions please

I’d probably avoid asking a teacher you’ve never met in person unless you’re sure they would be able to write an excellent rec. There’s just a lot about a person that you can’t observe through the internet and that’s what colleges are looking to hear about
