Hi, I am a student who went to Waterloo in Canada for a year
and am currently doing a 2-year mandatory military serve
I looked into application forms of schools I wanted to transfer to,
and I realized that most schools want 2 rec letters from 2 faculty members
from university.
I have a professor who knows me very well and has a good impression of me
but, except him, I think my highschool teacher and a boss at my work (army) know me better than any fac member from my university.
Do I still have to get both rec letters from college faculty
or can I get one from my prof. and one from my hs teacher or my boss?
Please help me,Thanks

sometimes if you haven't been in school for a while a rec from someone other than a faculty member is fine. you should call admissions or email the admissions officers of wherever you intend on applying just to be sure, though

I think the letter from your miliatary work would suffice.

Agree with both of the above. You can call the specific school(s) you are interested in transferring to and ask this question. Most transfer admissions staff people are very helpful. I think they will tell you the same thing that alykat and NDFreak said.

Good luck.
