I have a question. I have already requested recommendations for my transfer applications from a "graduate student lecturer" at my current school, but my employer (a tenured professor - I'm his research assistant) told me that he wants to write me recommendations because, coming from him, they would "carry more weight." My prospective schools' websites all specifically say that the name or title of the recommender doesn't matter, but if he's offering to write me a good recommendation, I don't want to turn him down. Should I have him send letters as supplemental information, or will schools not be interested?
Thanks!

You can send more than one letter of recommendation, if his letter is good, you should definitely accept.

Okay, thanks!
