Recommendation trouble...

So I have this counselor, and he's on leave...so he won't be able to write me a letter of recommendation until after the SCEA deadline of November 1st (I've checked with him and he can't). He said that I could potentially have another counselor write me a recommendation if I wanted to...would it be stupid to have another counselor write my recommendation? I really don't want to miss the SCEA deadline...I don't have any extenuating circumstances that the counselor would have to explain, so...should I:

1) Get a different counselor to write my (less personalized) recommendation

OR

2) Just miss the SCEA deadline and potentially have a lower chance of getting accepted (URM)

Bumpity bump

I’m not sure your chances of acceptance would be reduced either way. If you really want to apply SCEA, ask the other counselor to write a rec. Just make sure you give an adequate resume. I don’t see how either counselors’ recs would differ significantly from each other, since the recs will be based on the same info in your resume/transcript.
