recommendations from sophomore year teacher that bad?

All the schools that I am applying to says that "we prefer" letters from junior or senior year teachers. But is having a sophomore year letter really that bad? I could ask from my junior teachers, but i feel like it wouldn't be as strong as my sophomore year teacher. It wasn't an AP or honors class, but it was advanced. My other letter is from a junior teacher, so that should be okay. Senior year is out of the question because I really just started the year, and the teachers don't know me enough.

The words “prefer” and “recommend” from college admissions deserve to be taken to mean “this is what you should do.” Unless you have an absolutely stellar application it is best not to introduce exceptions to the normal application process.
