I just commented on your thread. I think BU is also a reach.

You should really check the freshman class profiles and common data sets to make sure that you are not wasting time and money applying to no-hope schools.

Common data sets are of little use to me. I am not your typical applicant as far as grades go. I am going to apply to a lot of schools. Purdue’s middle 50% GPA is 3.4-3.8 for engineering. I am a 3.1-3.2 overall, 3.3-3.4 soph & junior and 3.7 junior. I think it will all come down to the adcom reviewing me. On most of the schools in my initial list I am average-above average for test scores and average to below average for GPA. I feel I am kind of close to the stats, it will just depend on how the college looks at me IMO. I am just skeptical of my options. The only way I will find out is to apply. Wouldn’t you agree?

If you don’t mind spending the time and money, go right ahead and apply.

But if your early applications do not turn out well, you may need to re-evaluate the range of schools you target.

Note that engineering is often more selective than the overall school, and many schools do emphasize high school courses and grades/rank over test scores

Oh yeah, I absolutely will. I would think my chances at drexel are good at the very least. After looking at naviance, I appear to be well within the range of acceptance. Also, I know a lot of schools will reject you from ENG but take you into the college. I will do that worst comes to worst.
