Hello, are there any recommendations for good schools in he field of biochemistry with a focus in food science and chemical engineering.

For what type of applicant?

@dividerofzero Thank you. I am looking for a low cost school to study in as an undergraduate as my parents have saved no money for me to go to college. Preferences include small class sizes, no more than 500 miles from Maryland although I am willing to make exceptions on the location. Also I would like to have knowledge on which schools recommended are accelerated for biochemistry or chemical engineering. I do not have access to my unweighted gpa, my current weighted gpa is a 3.7 and my sat score is a 1470 which I will be retaking in the fall. So far I am interested in the University of Maryland college park, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and Rice University.

My dad said that he is willing to give me $600 a month for school.

UMD College Park is probably a good place if you’re looking for low-cost but I don’t know if it meets small class sizes (but that could be major-dependent). Rice, JHU, and Duke are all good bio/chem/ChemE programs but I would run a net price calculator; Rice does reliably meet need, though. Do any of them come out to <$15k overall for you?

UMD-CP is 24K. Subtract your dad’s contribution and you’re left with 17K (assuming his offer was for 12 months/year). You really need to know how much need-based aid UMD will give your family. It will be based on their financial resources, so run the net price calculators on UMD and any of the schools mentioned so far as @dividerofzero suggests.
