Does Villanova take teacher recommendations? I don't think I saw a mention of it on their website.

Yes, they are required, as part of the common application process that they use.

Okay, thanks.

Actually we were just at an admissions session yesterday and the Assistant Director of Admissions was pretty specific about recs, in direct answer to a question from a parent. The only LOR required is from the GC, on the Common App Form. They really do not want to read other recs. BUT, if a letter of recommendation from a *teacher/i would provide additional specific information, not found in the rest of the application, it would be considered. He specifically warned against providing more than the one teacher rec. And he specifically stated that a letter from a priest, alumni, senator (again, his words) would not add anything to an application. In fact, he stated pretty clearly that LORs are only used to “tip” the balance for otherwise qualified candidates.

Oh, okay. So basically I could send 1 counselor, + 1 teacher rec. Thanks for clearing that up, archiemom.
