I checked Villanova's website for required documents for the application and they were very vague about what and how many recommendations are requested. Do they want both a conselor and teacher recommendation or just one of the two?

You raise a good question, I am looking for this answer too. I’ll bump this along and hope that a student or someone who knows the answer takes a look at the question.

Almost every college wants one teacher recommendation, plus the guidance counselor. A few colleges want 2 teacher recommendations.

If I remember correctly, when you fill out the common app online, I think it may say that Villanova doesn’t specifically require a teacher recommendation, but I’d send one anyway.

I suggest getting all of the forms in order for your guidance counselor with stamped addressed envelopes and a list attached to each envelope of what needs to be included (such as one or two teacher recommendations, or a non-common appl form, etc.). It works best if everything goes in at one time to each college.

My suggestion: don’t send a teacher rec. If Villanova wanted teacher recs, they would’ve made it possible to send them over the Common App. As far as I know, you can’t send them over the Common App. They don’t even mention them on their website. I really wouldn’t bother w/ a teacher rec. Read some other threads from CC and you’ll find the same opinions.
