Recommender Not Receiving Invitation - Can't Resend Invite?

Hi everyone,

I invited my recommender via the Common App a few days ago and emailed asking if they had received anything, and they said no - nothing in junk mail either. I go to try and resend the invitation and the resend option isn’t even there; it’s just a blank box next to his email! I only have the option to delete the invite.

As an experiment I invited myself using the same domain as his email (through a community college email) and curiously the same thing happened to me - no email, nothing in junk folder, and I couldn’t resend an invitation.

I already did the FERPA release thing. What could be wrong with this? Is there another way my recommender could just make his own account and then add me or something?

Edit: I think I may have solved my own issue…are we supposed to assign the recommender to a college right after we invite them? the option to resend the invitation appeared after I assigned them to a college.

Yep, I solved the issue. I feel very stupid :)) for anyone having this issue, you have to assign a recommender to a college in order for them to receive an invitation.
