How would recruiting happen across the country esp if you’re a transfer student?
If you are a superstar, a coach from across the country might hear of you and do active recruiting. Most likely you need to drive the recruiting process yourself. Contact the coaches, send in stats and film, let the coach know where you’ll be competing.
You say you are a transfer. Are you currently a college athlete? If so, you’ll need to follow the NCAA/NAIA transfer rules.
@twoinanddone I’m at a NAIA D1 and was looking to transfer to a D2 that’s across the country. All the transfer rules I find online are from 2012. I just wanted to know how the recruiting process would work from across the country because I figured that would be very different then doing it in state.
Many athletes are recruited OOS when they are in high school, so the coaches aren’t always familiar with their playing ability or even the level of competition at the high school. They send in stats, they send film, they play in tournaments where the coaches watch games.
If you have a few schools picked out, contact those coaches (following the transfer rules about getting permission if needed) and get the conversation started.
