Hey, today i received a letter and post from UChicago and i was wondering if this meant anything at all? While my grades are about what is needed for the university, i want to be an engineering major so i don't know why they would send me a letter.

Poster? All I got was a postcard. lol Can someone buy a poster?

sorry i misspelled poster. lol. Its pretty cool, on one side it has some facts about the school and on the other side it shows an aerial view of the entire campus. So even if the letter doesn’t mean much the poster is still an awesome “gift” to receive

Theben1818 - it is not meaningless. The UChicago has identified you as someone who might want to apply. That means probably that you are an accomplished student who also probably has done pretty well on standardized tests. So contgrats! Also, I know the picture and it is pretty cool.

What it means is they want you to apply. They know little about you but the little they know makes them think that you could thrive at UChicago.

(They don’t know you only plan on studying engineering)

No one can actually definitively say what it means because none of the above work for UChicago but it isn’t a bad thing so well done!
