Need to know if its a scam

Not familiar with this one specifically. Probably not a scam, but not anything you need either. There is very little that these recruiting groups do that you can’t/shouldn’t do on your own.

Got the email today stating that someone with the name of “Julie Johnson” might as well have been Susie Smith, was scouting and gave this company my daughter’s name. As someone stated, you can do the leg work yourself and your coaches can also help so no need to pay someone for this service.

yes…I was contacted about 6 months ago by one of their recruiters regarding my son. I was skeptical but completed the grant application. I got a grant and my cost was $495.00. I decided to give it a shot and I’m happy to say that we heard from more than 25 coaches and today he’s being recruited by 3 schools. Very happy with their service.

So you gave an unsolicited person who contacted you $500 and now your kid is magically being recruited by 3 schools. Too funny.

. What was the grant for?

What I have trouble getting my arms around is that I have always been told that the coaches want to hear from the kids, not the parents. It seems strange then to suggest that the coaches would rather hear from services than from the kids.

A service can help by setting up a profile for a recruit with videos that coaches can access, with professional filming or advice. But actually being the ones to initiate contact with coaches doesn’t sound right to me.

I would say if someone seen your child, don’t you think several people did. There is to many sites for each sport from state to nationally that colleges get their information from that, wait, cost the recruit nothing.

Yes they want no parent involvement.

I paid for no service and been recruited, however, at D2 and some low level D1. Only one school has my major, but only the assistant coach at the University calls me. I will keep that option open and doing a visit, but <10% that anything comes from it.
