I wrote a mock college essay for English junior year and got a 97. The prompt was one from the Common App. Would it be kosher to submit that essay for the actual Common App, or would it be dishonesty/plagiarism/whatever?

Keeping in mind:
-It was my original work the first time around
-It's edited from the original (mostly for length) but still recognizable.

I tried the search function first, but nothing I saw (unless I was searching wrong?) matched my situation exactly.

I think it should be fine. Speak to your English teacher, just in case…

I should maybe add that it’s on Turnitin because I had to submit it the first time around. Change anything?

If it’s on the internet, I would definitely include a footnote of some sort, and provide some sort of verfication that it’s yours. It’s far too risky not to.

(Turnitin says explicitly that I’m the author)

i’m sure its fine. why would they assign you a common app prompt without accounting for you using it if the assignment god forbid, actually turned out to be useful?
