Reed College 2014 Applicants

book>>>>>>>>>film
I know it even though I havent seen it :P

I’ve both seen and read A Clockwork Orange, and I’d say the film is better than the book.

Hmm, ok, I’ll see the movie too. Its just that the book gives you more time to think. And the movie cuts out some parts of the book.

Saw it, loved it, but still believe book was better :P

Haha after 5 months finally got a college update, rejected from UCLA. Now I’m really nervous…

Rejected from MIT.

'Tis the season to be jolly and, not-so-jolly. All of you guys know you did your application to the best of your abilities; sadly there’s no control over that waitlist, rejection or acceptance. Whatever the outcome with Reed, I’m sure you guys will do well, wherever you may end up(and hopefully it’s Reed, if that’s what you want) :).

^^ That’s the sad part. I KNOW I didn’t do my applications to the ‘average’ of my abilities for many of the colleges like MIT and Stanford.
But I guess thats behind us now. Time to look forward to the ecstatic moments! :stuck_out_tongue:
Either way, I’m really grateful to have you as a current Reedie beside us throughout this process :)

Well, gary7, that’s just how it works. You operate on deadlines and you give it your best shot in the limited time you have. It’s sad, but that’s how life is, I guess.

I see all these decision dates flying around for different colleges, but unless anything has changed since last year, you guys will be hearing from Reed sometime late next week. Good Luck.

It’s been a pleasure reliving application season-I truly love the whole experience of picking colleges and applying and I love Reed so it works out well. From what I can see, Reed has an amazing set of applicants to choose from this year, so all the luck to Dean Kristine Sawicki and company-for making the hard choices.

Does anyone know if they send an email as well, or is it only paper?

yay! glad to see a Reed thread. I’m an international student applying RD. also applied to HYPS and Amherst. Can someone tell me exactly how and when we’ll be notified of decisions?!?

Reed sends an email, usually in very late March, followed by snail mail.

I’m from India and I was accepted last year. My acceptance e-mail came on 27th March. The date may vary, but Reed has a tradition of sending out e-mails to all accepted applicants first before despatching any couriered/postal mail; the only exception is phone calls but that’s only for domestic applicants with special circumstances. Waitlist/rejection e-mails come out a day later, if I’m not mistaken.

In any case, you guys should know via e-mail sometime next week or week after next. Good Luck all of you! There are so many international applicants this year-nice to see. :)

And yes, the FedEx package with the Financial Aid Award and the formal letter of acceptance reached me on March 31st.

I expect the decisions to come on 26th, Friday :)

…or 23rd, Tuesday; 24th, Wednesday; 25th, Thursday; 29th, Monday. You get the picture. Play the waiting game. The good thing with Reed and colleges that e-mail decisions is that you’re always surprised instead of biting your nails in anticipation and counting down to seconds and nano-seconds.

Waitlisted at Tulane, accepted to UCSD…UCB on Thursday…I hate this game. I’m on spring break too so I have no life right now.

Rejected from HMC this morning. That makes the score 3-0 :(

Better luck with Reed! :)

Thanks paradox :)
