@earthtosienna The F.A. website says April 1st.
Thank you! @steelbeams
should the rest of us expect rejections?
that’s what i’m wondering…
someone in a previous comment said that they knew someone who was rejected, so i guess some rejection letters have been sent out too? It’s weird though, because nobody has directly said they were rejected.
If they did send out rejections, we’d surely have seen one or two on this thread, right? Are they really going to leave us on the edge of our seats for the whole weekend and then hit us with rejections? Aren’t cruel and unusual punishments like this illegal? &$&($&^$
Nonetheless, congratulations to all those who got in!
Accepted! 5 PM today in California if that helps.
Congrats to the fellow Reedies out there! As for those of you waiting, fret not, it will soon be over
Anyone knows if they work on Saturday? Just curious if I should get my hopes up this afternoon
I was trying to remain hopeful and appreciated the other posters who were being encouraging but I just saw that on last year’s RD thread someone mentioned that the pattern in years past has been to send out acceptance emails and then follow that up with rejection emails the next day.
I don’t know how that comports with the person earlier here who said that she knew someone who’d received a rejection email at the same time she got her acceptance email, though. Hopefully they’ll let everyone know one way or the other today and not make those left waiting wait until Monday.
I guess that explains it.
I was the one whose friend was rejected; he received a rejection 5 minutes after I received an acceptance, so I’m not sure why no one else has received rejections…
Crap. I’m sure the rest of us who haven’t gotten emails yet are rejected. :’(
I’m in the same situation. I really wish they had sent out all of the emails at the same time. I’ve never seen a college/university do it this way. If indeed how it is being done this year, Reed College, please reconsider how you announce next year. The separation of acceptance and rejection emails is not preferred and feels horrible for the latter recipients.
I’m guessing Reed College apparently does “early write” where they first send acceptances to their best applicants and rejections to their worst applicants then maybe they’ll debate on who get in with their remaining applicants.
Two persons have mentioned yesterday’s recipients receiving rejections. So I guess there is still hope for us, even though we may not be the cream of the crop
Who knows how many applications Reed received?
Last year, close to 4,000 applied. But it could’ve been more this year since they made their application free.
So, no one who didn’t hear yesterday has heard anything today then?
The email was sent about 8 EST yesterday so I am waiting until then. Nothing so far
I haven’t gotten anything @Illustration
It’s terrible. I wish they would just send them all at once.
