***** Reed College Class of 2019 RD *****

I didn’t receive an initial email and haven’t seen anything yet today @ illustration

Typically they admit 300 some people. Obviously not everyone posts that they’ve gotten in on college confidential…but if they’ve admitted the entire 300-something people, you would think there would be more posts on here.

@summmmahhhh they admit 1500+ but about 300+ choose to enrol

@Maxwell1491‌ oh oops that was dumb of me lol.

Then yeah…with 1500+ admitted there should be more people commenting. Idk maybe not.

I am guessing that only a certain type of student posts on CC. I don’t think a lot of kids know about it. You’ll see that some colleges don’t have any activity at all, ever. Therefore it makes sense to me that not a lot of kids who apply to college post period or are even aware of CC. You guys are engaged and proactive in your application process. Not everyone takes that extra step to find a community such as this. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you hear soon some positive results.

Yes. But even for LACs of similar size who receive similar amounts of applicants, we should be seeing more rejections posted, even from CC users.

Nonetheless, good luck everyone. Hopefully we’ll know by tonight our decision. Although I do admit this is a bit odd, this is the only college I’ve applied to that didn’t release all the decisions at once.

Man, I almost feel bad getting accepted. My gpa is like… 3.28 UW. All I can say is: Reed must have loved my essays… I guess I’m evidence they truly take the holistic approach, which makes me love them even more… Good luck everybody!

My D is away this weekend at an EC event but just texted me that she called Reed admissions today about 1 p.m. EDT and asked about decisions. “They said that they’re sending decisions out during a span of a couple of days.”

She then suggested I post here, FWIW. It kills me to see all you amazing, accomplished, and fantastic kids going through these agonies. Hang in there and remember that the college admissions process doesn’t define you!

@limner thank you so much that makes me feel a lot better about admission decisions haha. I was thinking that Reed was just going to send rejections on a later date.

I still feel they first send acceptances to their best applicants before they send to the rest

@Maxwell1491‌ That may be true but as my father’s always said, you don’t have to be the best, you just have to be better. Not that a college decision can determines who’s better anyway. Good luck everyone!

Any chance they’ll send out some decisions today?

If anyone is interested, my stats are 89/100 (3.4-3.5 I think), 2270 SAT, 800 Physics 750 Math 2, 7 honors and 5 AP courses, stuff like that.

So do we think we will waiting until Monday to hear then or is it likely that they’ll let us know over the weekend? I’ve been putting off accepting an offer from another school for months on the hopes that I’ll hear in the affirmative from Reed but am starting to worry about waiting so long because the dorm options apparently get pretty slim the longer you wait. I did, at least, get in everywhere else I applied but the cost is going to kill us most places even at the in state public school.

@highschool7777‌ you should never feel bad for getting in somewhere!! Obviously you deserve to get in. A GPA doesn’t define someone’s intelligence or potential. Congrats!

@highschool7777 please can you share your full stats

I feel so much better knowing that they’re sending acceptances out over the span of a few days. Thanks for taking the time to let us know @limner‌

Wait isn’t their admissions office closed today?

I sense a troll

@Maxwell1491‌ what?
