@EeveeSpirit I’ve noticed that!
I’m really excited about Reed’s language houses
What languages are you interested in?
I’m definitely going to study Spanish wherever I am, and would hope to live in the Spanish house at Reed, but I also really want to learn Arabic. What about you?
I know Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and some Japanese. I’m definitely planning on continuing Japanese and Spanish studies. I haven’t looked into housing yet but I’m super excited!
Are any of you getting admissions decisions from other colleges within the next 2 weeks- before Reed?
Reed is seriously the last college that sends decisions on my small list- and according to their updated admissions blog on tumblr, whether you receive an email or snail mail depends entirely on your address and not your citizenship. So, an international living in the US should expect snail mail, and conversely, a US citizen living abroad should expect an email.
Understandably, this was done to prevent any packages getting lost in international transit- a good move.
Yeah I’m getting every other decision before Reed. Using snail mail only is rather irritating
A fitting end to our admissions journey, eh? With all of our decisions in hand, good or bad, we see that white truck pull up beside our mailboxes. A rush of anxiety coarses through us as we see the mailman pull out a medium sized box and walk over to our doors.
knock kn-
Before they finish the second knock, the door is already open. We peer down at that box- we know exactly what it means, and a sense of reassurance drowns out any lasting anxiety. On our beds, we stare at it. Our decisions lie within, firmly holding hands with our futures.
May something like, or even better, happen to all of us hahahah
Yes, Reed is dead last. And yes they send decisions via mail; nothing on the portal and no email. If you don’t hear by Thursday, April 7th, call them. This process tortures you to the very last minute, but persevere.
Do they use ups or USPS?
Never mind figured out from last year they used FedEx
@AGoodFloridian Girl, if its a box, we definitely got admitted xD HAHA no denial will ever give you that much stuff
LOL @wonderlanddd if we both end up at Reed, I will visit you in the spanish house so you can help me with college level spanish xD (goals to becoming bilingual)
OMG I heard about that @vonlost Legit, I love the academic spirit of Reed
@jackisawesome Dude, you’re everywhere on CC. How many colleges did you apply to?
Just received two rejections and a waitlist in a period of one week, so it goes without saying that this week leading up to Reed’s decisions will be particularly harrowing hahaha My first choice, top choice and last decision. As fate would have it, huh?
This upcoming week will most likely be nerve wracking for us all, so I extend my wishes to all of you We’ll pull through, one way or another.
Pretty much the same situation. All acceptances for a while, this week 2 rejections, a waitlist, and a terrible FA package from my first choice. Reed was a very close second, now I guess it’s moved up to the first choice slot.
Good luck everyone!
@usualhopeful You could always try contacting your top chooce regarding their FA package if you haven’t already- it’s not uncommon at all to see colleges change the amount offered in the eventuality of it not being enough. Don’t give up on it just yet!
Edit: Oh and, we both got rejected from the same college. Fistbump Good news still awaits us, pal.
hey y’all :~) i’m a newbie to CC, which is funny considering how late into the year it is. where are you guys from?
@AGloodFloridian - I’m planning on contacting them, but I’ve heard the school is particularly resistant to negotiating, and I don’t have a better package from a comparable college.
Anyway, best of luck from one Colby reject to another! I’ll just be happy when the whole process is over.
Haha I got waitlisted at Colby and I have no idea how. I was expecting a rejection Lol.
