Anyone planning to visit on RAD?
@NMParent000079 I’m going to RAD 2!
Still no update on my application
My son got a letter in the mail today from Reed financial aid. He won’t be able to attend RAD on the 15th but will make arrangements to visit later this month.
@CoolChem Admissions hasn’t replied to your email?
@CoolChem I’d call the admissions office.
@waiting4newz I emailed my admissions counselor, but she has not responded.
@NMParent000079 I will tommorow
Good luck @CoolChem!
Wishing you the best, @CoolChem!
Me too @CoolChem
Reed accepted my appeal and added like 10k to my FA package! (although some of it is work-study.)
I’ll just pay for college by working the nuclear reactor, I guess
@OMPursuit, good for you!
@ByakuSharennegan, I hope you hear back soon.
Everyone, wishing you the best! My daughter just committed to Columbia. She said that Reed is her hardest college to decline; it was the first school she visited, her favorite interview, and her favorite essay supplement. However, she really feels compelled to learn new things on the opposite coast.
Good luck!
@OMPursuit How did you get Reed financial aid to add the $10k to your aid package? Did you speak with someone in financial aid? Send a letter?
We talked with the FA office over the phone, then emailed them an appeal including our newest W2s. It took a few days to get processed. @NMParent000079
We are unable to go to Admitted Student Day this week and still have a few questions. Does anybody know if the dorms and cafeteria stay open over Fall Break and Thanksgiving for students?
Yes, dorms stay open, limited food service. Calendar has full details: https://www.reed.edu/academic_calendar/index.html
@sfdad Thanks! Do you know if the college arranges trips for students to take on the breaks? Or about how many students stay on campus? We’re from the midwest and not sure if we’d have our child stay or try to bring her home.
Thanksgiving is such a short turn around time I’m not sure if it’s worth the trip home. Anyone else a distance away, just wondering what your plans might be. Thoughts?
