Reed Regular Decision 2022

Still nothing from them, should I just take this as a rejection? If they shipped fedex it should have came by now, or I should have at least gotten an email

Accepted! I live out in Virginia last name starts with P. The box was kinda cool but the confetti was very annoying. Anyone know how to find out about financial aid awards?

Its a problem on Reeds end not ours. Emalied them and finally got a reply :
Thank you for reaching out. As an international student you will receive your admission decision via email. International students will receive their decision along the same timeline as domestic students.
Our decisions will NOT BE MAILED. Only emailed.

I still haven’t received anything from Reed. No email, mail, nothing. When will it arrive? How come some other people get it sooner than others?

@thedjttm I haven’t either, I’m assuming those who haven’t heard have been rejected or waitlisted considering nobody has said they’ve been rejected yet.

For those who are wondering, I haven’t heard anything from Reed yet. If nothing comes by tomorrow night I will be shooting them an email.

Some of the financial aid decisions came out today

They sent all decisions out by snail mail, so I don’t think it means that.

I don’t have any news from Reed yet, either. No mail, no email, no updates to my status page…nada.

For all of those that have received absolutely nothing, including me, where do you live? I live in Southern California.

I have received nothing and I am also from Southern California.

Nothing, I live in la

They just sent emails regarding waitlists,

Dear _______,

Thank you for your interest in Reed College and for the time and effort you put into your application for admission. As a result of our increased application pool, we are not able to offer all qualified candidates a position in the incoming class. We appreciated the opportunity to learn about you through the application process; at this time, we have decided to offer you a place on our wait list.

While we remain interested in you, we understand you may decide to pursue other college options. If you choose to remain on the wait list, we will provide you with information on ways to increase your chances for consideration.

If you would like to remain on our wait list, send an email to admission@reed.edu by April 15. Applicants on the wait list will be reevaluated if space becomes available. Please see the attached “Frequently Asked Questions” for more details.

After the National Reply Date for admitted students, May 1, we will have a clearer sense of admission opportunities for students on the wait list.

Please notify us if your postal address or email address changes, as we will be communicating with you about your application status. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to write or call.

Thank you for your patience and for your interest in Reed.

Sincerely yours,

Milyon Trulove
Vice President and Dean of Admission & Financial Aid

I just received a rejection. Whelp, I have literally nowhere to attend now. I have no idea of what I’m going to do.

I would recommend appealing at one of the colleges! If your as qualified as you believe you are-- it could work. Don’t give up hope yet. Did you receive any wait lists? @Hizeus

@agfavista1600 I was previously waitlisted from the University of Chicago but eventually rejected.

Rejected! I was expecting that

@Hizeus maybe take a gap year or apply to colleges that are still accepting applications

Finally received an email, got rejected

DD was accepted and I emailed finaid office to find out about finaid offer. They replied it would be out in about a week. However DD said she received the info today.

I agree with others who haven’t heard anything yet that it does seem late, preventing proper travel plans. Our DD was even offered a small amount of $ from Reed to come visit. Unfortunately it may be too late to attend RAD.

I would like to know from those accepted - was there a personal handwritten note on your letter? Perhaps in reference to your common app essay or to your personal story?

To those who did not get in - do not give up hope. You will go to school where you are meant to be and maybe this is a time to reassess and reevaluate. DD did not get into her #1 but other possibilities have opened up (and not necessarily Reed). Do not take a denial personally. Remember that admission offices are building the class of 2022 and who knows what specifically these schools are looking for in this particular class. Sorry for the rant but from a mom who cares - chin up and do not despair.
