Reformatting Ti-84

Momom77 Yes my classmates support me. I guess I should just say that I’m glad you and I are not in the same school district–it sounds like our school districts do not work in the same way.

I sorta agree with Momom77. Our teachers clear our calculators before every final. I can understand why losing your programs would annoy you, but once you figure out how to store them on your computer that should be just a minor annoyance.

I personally don’t feel as if it’s worth making a big deal out of, especially if it could possibly put you on your teacher’s bad side. I’m sure you’ve heard the expression choose your battles wisely, right? Is this a battle worth fighting?

Cornball I think this battle is worth fighting. I think calculator deletion is sheer blasphemy, especially when it is based on a nonexistant policy. Had this policy been announced in advance, then I would not be in this math class. I would have worked on that battle instead.

And you are talking about a final exam–you are well aware of that in advance I’d presume by the end of the school year. I’m talking about any day at the teacher’s whim.

There are tons of YT tutorials online. And yes, you can just create a .txt file and transfer it over as a TI-Basic program. Rather than using Notepad++, you could just use a dedicated TI-Basic IDE like [TI-Coder 1.0 - ticalc.org](TI-Coder 1.0 - ticalc.org)

Well, good luck then. Hope you can get the policy changed. :D

slucy523 How could I convert a .txt to a Ti-Basic program with the proper extension? It also looks like Ti-Coder is for Windows users? What should a Mac user do?

You’d have to run Tokens on a Mac, by installing Mono. You’ll also have to compile from [Welcome to the TiLP web site](Welcome to the TiLP web site)

sluchy523 thank you so much for that link! Is that link in lieu of TiConnect or TiCoder or both?

When I plugged in the usb to both the calculator and the computer, the calculator immediately froze. The second I then unplugged the usb from the computer, the calculator worked again. I know there is no problem with the usb drive; I tried multiple drives and multiple computers, all with the same issue. Any help would be greatly welcomed.
