Hi..I would like to know what is the best format for LOR..I will applying to UC berkeley and other colleges...suggestion and sample letters can surely be a great help to me.....what letters will surely impress the univs...
Thanks in advance...

These letters are meant to come from professors. They’ll know how to write one.

As just posted, don’t worry about format-you don’t write these letters.
Just pay attention to requesting letters of rec from individuals successful in your desired field of study who also know you well enough to write a letter specific to you! To help the letter writer, assemble a brief CV with your relevant experience (academic and work), a brief summary of how the letter writer knows you and why you wish to apply to the field in question.

The letter writer will take it from there.

Many programs have a form that your recommenders fill out, so crafting a generic fill-in-the-blank letter isn’t often possible.

Some other stuff that would be useful to your recommenders:
spreadsheet with LoR deadlines
personal statement
statement of purpose

Some programs ask the recommender why you would be a good fit for the program, and your personal statement/statement of purpose would help them know that.
