If I drop basketball(varsity) for the better of gpa&rank for the junior yris it going to look bad? I played during freshman and soph yrs also. And I will def be playing senior yr.
To whom? Colleges? No. Although, TBH, it doesn’t say much for the team and/or the coach where players can just come and go as they please.
To colleges
Don’t do that just to get good grades. You should help your team out. That’s ridiculously rude to your coaches and teammates
I think you have to do what is best for you if it is really hurting your grades. They are the primary reason you are at school. Well, they are the measure of the primary reason. Talk to the coach first, see it there is any way to balance this out. I assume you are talking to your parents, but if not I would talk to them as well.
If there is no way to do both, then I think you have to favor better grades so you have more options in colleges. You obviously are not going to be a recruited athlete if you could even consider dropping it, so the priority seems clear. Besides, the season is just starting. It isn’t like it is a week before state playoffs or something like that. That would be a bit more dramatic, but at this time of year? Not even a close call compared to keeping up your grades.
Ty guys
I dont think its rude though…especially hes(coach) pretty supportive and lenient on grades.
It doesn’t look “bad” or “good”. What it looks like is that you had to drop basketball to get decent grades your junior year.
I did feel upset and sad bc i really wanted to be part of the team. But I felt that I needed to pull my grades/rank up and i got em 2 days ago
