Regarding Yr reqs. and quarter system

This question popped into my head as I was looking at various graduate school requirements. They often times say "a year of biology (with lab), a year of calculus (college level math), etc etc"

My question is this. Since a lot of classes are quarter length, how do I know if my class is a year's worth? Would I need to take 3 quarters of biology to qualify as 1 year of bio for med school, for example?

Or are some classes only needed to take 1-2 quarters of to qualify as 1 year? Bit unclear on this.

Cheers guys

well for biology, chem, ochem, physics you need the full 3 quarters…

but for Calculus the schools that require 2 semester just need 2 quarters because they only want single variable calc… no multibvariable which is usually in the 3rd quarter of calc. .

Thanks for clearing that up ENT
