Regents Scholarship info...

Does anyone happen to know if\when transfers get information regarding the regents scholarship for the UC campuses?

UCLA says first week of February. I didn’t get one. Sad face :(

I thought the Regents Scholarship was only for freshman…

i think regents for freshman are in feb, and transfers in march?

@sega18
I looked on the UCLA website and it only specified when freshman get their notifications, so don’t give up hope just yet!

Nope, transfers are also eligible, but like admissions, the process is a tad different.

@Bookham
Thanks! Hopefully some of us are able to get one!

@AnthroFlo - Is it just UCLA that does it for transfers or is it all UC’s?

Because I asked the transfer rep that came to my CCC from UCSB and he was befuddled when I asked about the Regents Scholarship and transfer students and he basically told me that at UCSB it’s just for freshmen…

@Matt4200
Not gonna lie, I’m not entirely sure which campuses have the Regents Scholarship available for transfer students and which do not. Though, as you stated, UCSB does not offer it for transfers and I’m currently trying to find information on other UCs websites, but some of the pages prove to be unhelpful. I’ll report back with my findings.

I hope that was helpful and not too confusing.
Just as a bit of a “disclaimer” I quickly scanned through the UC websites to throw this list together, if there are any corrections that anyone knows of that need to be made please feel free to correct them.

Well that sucks that it’s not at UCSB for transfers :/

did any transfer student get the UC Berkeley Leadership Award email invite? On UCB college confidential students have received them. Was it just freshman students or transfer students get them as well.

Thanks

I haven’t received anything; however, I wouldn’t worry too much about it just yet.
I’m pretty sure that the people on the UCB thread are mostly freshman anyway, and they tend to receive some info before transfers do (i.e. acceptance letters, regents notification, etc…).

Are international students eligible for regent and alumni scholarship?

@marcuscolon

I’m not sure, you might have to try and reach out to individual UC campuses to find out or you can try browsing their financial aid page.

Thanks. Regents are generally open to international students, but alumni scholarship is very vague in their eligibility description.

Well, if I understand this Regents Scholarship business correctly, some of us should be getting emails soon.

Just wanted to say best of luck to everyone (:

I hope some of us get emails from the schools we really want to go to!

@AnthroFlo Thanks and good luck to you as well. Will post if I do get when just to let everyone know they started coming out. Hope everyone can do the same.

@giantsfan0824
For sure! It’s always nice to share good news (:
Besides, I’ve read on another thread that getting a Regents Scholarship is, essentially, an early notification of admissions. Personally, I’m not holding my breath, but I’ll be stoked if it does happen.

So does anyone actually know when transfers find out if they got regeants? It seems like no one really knows when…the wait is killing me though so finding out a little bit early that I have been accepted would be a lifesaver

Hey just curious, does anyone know who the Regents is geared toward? Like as an out of state student, would I have a decreased chance of getting it? I only applied to UCB and UCLA and to be honest, I don’t even think I even have that good of a chance of getting in but I feel like I have a pretty good academic record and Regents might be my only chance to go if I do get accepted.

anyone know if transfers were required to submit a letter of recommendation for a regents scholarship? or does all the information they need go right into our UC app?
