Does anyone know if transfer students have been notified of Berkley Regents?

yes they do. my friend received one.

Are you sure about that, unlimitedx? The transfer fall semester grade update is due by today, meaning GPAs could be altered drastically with the reporting of ~1/3 of an applicants reviewable course work.

I think the invitations are sent out in mid to late March; UCLA sends the transfer invites out in mid-March and their grade update was due Jan 31.

EDIT: Also from the UC website:

• Freshman Applicants: Award notification begins in April.
• Transfer Applicants: Award notification begins in May.

I don't think they would send out Regents for both freshmen and transfer applicants synchronously, and carry out all other transfer admission procedures a month after that of the freshmen applicants.

I'm not familar with the Regents process concerning transfer students. But unless my friend is lying to me, she is attending Berkeley with a full ride with the Regents scholarship.

Doesn't one have to interview for Regent's scholarship? Or is that different for transfer students?

Yes, you have to interview. And the largest cash reward is $1000. I don't know what your friend is talking about.

"And the largest cash reward is $1000. I don't know what your friend is talking about."

That's not true. For people without demonstrated financial need, the amount is $1000. But those with the need get everything covered as a full-ride.

Can you post a link with that information?

PM kyledavid80, he has a lot of links with Berkeley financial aid information and whatnot.

Look through this thread where kyledavid80 touches on some financial aid subjects.

Well, I stand corrected, lol. But, the issue at hand is when the regent's invitations are sent out for transfer applicants, which no one seems to have any information on.

Would calling the admission's office be an option?

Regents has a minimum amount of $1000. It can be increased depending in your need. This sort of information can easily be found on the financial aid website.

Yea, I understand that know --I must have read the minimum as maximum by mistake.

OP,

I spoke with the Undergrad Scholarship Office at Berkeley, and was told that transfer applicants never get Regent's invites, instead they are only notified if they received the award in May.
