The world of communications/media is being transformed by computers and the Internet. If you want to go into this field, then you should seek out programs that recognize the impact of technology and emphasize, “new media”,“digital media” or “multimedia” in the program, rather than the traditional “old media”. This requires an interdisciplinary approach to the subject that draws from the fields of communications, the arts, and engineering.

Make sure the Cornell program allows you to take courses in the liberal arts college as well as the engineering college

At Tufts, if you want to go into communications/media, you can major in Psychology, take some clinical courses and minor in Communication and Media Studies (CMS). This keeps all of your potential career options open and you can decide on a career path based on what you like the most.

One of the three CMS minors is in Multimedia Arts which plays to one of your strengths and ensures that you are well positioned for the future.
