How difficult is it for freshmen to register for classes? Is there a real possibility of not being able to get into certain classes?

Very real. Get a back up for your back up and then get 2 backs up for that one too. Especially for UW classes. I actually got my 3rd choice for UW but I love it because I got an A and the class was interesting.

The site will be unbearably slow or even crash when it’s time to register because you all are logging in at the same time so don’t panic, just sit tight and register. Make sure you have a post it or something with the CRNs for each time.

Forexample. Have a column for 9:35 class and then choice 1,2,3 etc going down. And then for your 11:25 class. then your 12:45 class, etc. You don’t want to mistakingly type in your number 1 and 2 choice for 9:35 at the same time because it will think you want to take 2 classes at the same time and it won’t register you for either.

Also, make sure to make extra backups for non introductory classes like Biology of Cancer or some other popular class. And don’t forget to type in your labs/discussions WITH the main class or it wont let you register.

Thanks for the info.

That’s what I was afraid of. I’m really worried that I’m gonna get stuck with classes at 8am and 6pm. I’ll be commuting to GW, so that makes getting a good schedule even more important for me!

If a course is closed, but you really want to take the class, would emailing the professor and begging to get into the class work?
