Registration and Name Changes Questions

I received an email from the financial aid office that my package has changed. Before, my bearfacts award summary indicated that I am registered. Now I am listed as NOT REGISTERED. Can anyone explain this? I am thinking Berkeley has not charged for registration fees, or I haven't yet enrolled in at least 13.0 units.

Also, when I applied to Berkeley (about three years ago), I didn't use my full name (additional middle names). Now my parents are urging me to change the name I had given Berkeley, so that what the school has on file matches what appears on my social security number. I am thinking I should just go to the Registrar's office, but is there anything I should be worried about? For example, would my information be updated in time for applying to grad school? Has anyone ever experienced any problems (telebears appointment delayed or lost) because of this?

Thanks.

They recently updated the Stafford loan limits to comport with the newly passed legislation in June. Assuming you're a junior, the loan would have been increased from $2750 a semester to $3750 --I would check for that.

Thanks for the reply.

FED.DIR.LOAN-SUB1 FL is still 2750.00, though. Is the source of my lack of registration status? Did your financial aid package change yet?

I'll probably ask the financial aid office more about this.
