I am an incoming MBA student, and as you all may know, this weekend is registration weekend. And I JUST found out that they JUST placed an immunization hold on my record TODAY! The day before registration starts. HOWEVER, when I check my immunization check on Buzzport, it says that I am clear and do not have an immunization hold.

I can't contact anyone to get this resolved because it's late on Friday evening. Is anyone else having the same problem? This is very frustrating and I just don't know what I can do to be able to register this weekend without having to wait til Monday.

I had the same problem this past week, mainly cause of the Hep B immunization. I have the 2nd dose done, but have to wait 5 months to get the last one.

I spent most of yesterday at campus and on the phone. Apparently when health services releases a hold on your account, they have to input the date for that in more than one place in their system. For me they had only done it in one spot. And no one at health services seems to know what the deal is.
The registrar’s office was awesome. They called health services to figure out what the problem was since they did not show a hold for me and called me back after health services fixed it.

Doubt there is anything you can do this weekend…start calling Monday am and see what they can do. Good luck :)

Thanks for the response tinselcleo, glad to know I’m not the only one. There’s nothing I can do but wait till Monday to contact them. Hopefully the classes I need to register for will still be available.

Update
I called the Health Office all day today and couldn’t get through. Called the Registrar’s office and they called and got it sorted out for me - it took them twice because the first time the Health Office didn’t do it correctly. The second time I stayed on the phone with the Registrar’s office until they removed the hold and I was able to register.

On a side note:
It was my second Hep B shot that was the problem. Even though it showed that I was clear on Buzzport. Luckily I had the second shot scheduled for this morning anyway.

Guess they have problems tracking the Hep B shots…lol…it’s exactly what happened with me. Glad you could register.

Now I have problems with pre-reqs…seems I’ll never get a break. The system isn’t seeing my classes from Tech from 1992 headdesk… I am seriously considering going back to landscaping.

so, does the tech website always suck this bad? i applied for transfer a couple of weeks ago and shortly after was able to login to buzzport. it just seems that it’s not very user friendly and often has bugs here and there.

Do you have a transcript from back in the day? If so, I would recommend presenting it to the Registrar and going from there. Best of luck. I had registration issues as a first-time freshman because I sent my joint enrollment transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions instead of the Registrar’s Office. FASET day two was not very pleasant, but I got everything resolved before my registration time opened.

The Technique (student newspaper) reported [in Spring 2009](http://nique.net/news/99922) that Buzzport would undergo a revision, which it did. Believe it or not, it was even worse prior to that revision. You couldn’t even drag and drop the tabs; you had to use an “easy to use” tab management page.

As a student, I learned of Buzzport during FASET, but I seldom used it. I forwarded all my mail to Gmail, used Google calendar, and simply went straight to OSCAR if needed. Buzzport was only useful because it gave you a listing of everyone in your classes, so you could send a mass e-mail to everyone if something urgent arose.

So, is this indicative of how everything works at tech, or does their website just suck? When I first logged in I couldn’t navigate through the mess, and my first thought was “great, tech really is as hard as everyone says”

I think most professors use T-Square now for class information (ie. announcements, assignments, etc.). T-Square’s pretty user-friendly in my opinion. I also liked OSCAR; I even miss it, since I don’t believe that my grad school’s system is as good. Buzzport, IMO, is unnecessary and a waste of money. The one thing it can do that T-Square can’t–public roster–can be implemented in T-Square anyway. Internal politics probably keeps Buzzport afloat more than anything else.

Yeah - not a big fan of buzzport either, but I have to give props to the OIT people, so long as you call and don’t submit your problems online. The guys there have been super nice and have fixed everything pretty quick.

My transcript is in the system, problem is that the courses back then don’t have the numbers used now for pre-req’s so I’ve had to override just about every class I needed to take…oh…joy. But they came back within a day so I am now (finally) registered in fairly decent classes.

I really hope financial aid isn’t this bad…not sure how much more red tape I can cut through, scissors are getting pretty dull. Just give me a book to study already.
