Regular Decision 2023

@GForce2818…my son also got in with Presidential…we missed doing separate application for STEM scholar. Do you know if it is something they can do while they’re there for sophomore year (like honors programs?) by any chance.

@mbjq10 I know that the STEM Scholar application had to be submitted back in January. I’m not sure if they will allow later applications (maybe even applications this summer?) Your son should reach out to Gail Sweezey, as she is the one that first emailed my son and suggested he apply. She is the Dean of Admissions. Or reach out to Istvan Urcuyo. He is the Director of the STEM Scholars program. Good luck!

Accepted as an 1832 Scholar!

My d was accepted with the David Wills Scholarship (20k per yr). I’m surprised, because she had withdrew her app due to an ED 2 acceptance. Must have fallen through the cracks. Anyway, this was one of my favorite schools. It just had such a good feel. It was one of the rare schools we saw that was both small and vibrant. Congrats everyone.

So excited! D was accepted with Abraham Lincoln and Sunderman music scholarships. Really looking forward to her orange envelope!

@GFORCE2818 …thank you! I loved Gettysburg; although my son’s first choice seems to be Pitt and they are such different schools! Trying to get him to lay out all the pros and cons! He has been accepted to a number of honor’s programs, so I am not sure why he didn’t at least apply for this. Maybe we will see you in April.

Accepted Presidential Scholarship 22K per year.

@mbjq10 My son is going through similar problems. He also got great merit and aid at Juniata. He has a lot more decisions coming in the next two weeks too, so this could be tough. STEM Scholars at Gettysburg has an income cut-off, so maybe you are too high? It might also be URM, I can’t remember. Congratulations to your son on his acceptances and honors programs. He will make the right choice for him once he really thinks it over.

@gforce2818…oh, if there’s an income cut off, that would be why he never applied; he probably wasn’t eligible.
Good luck with decisions!!

@mbjq10 Thanks! You too!

Accepted with Presidential scholarship. Going to visit school on Saturday to get better feel

looks like all internationals are waitlisted. Got SATs with 1410, good grade and all other leadership stuffs and internship. But still? There is one already accepted ED from my country. Does anybody know what happened in previous sessions? Holy!

Accepted with Presidential scholarship! 3.7 GPA 1450 SAT 32 ACT

Son got his Big Orange packet in the mail today. He really liked the handwritten notes. He’s looking forward to the STEM Scholar and Accepted Student Days in April.

T

Daughter accepted with Abe Lincoln Scholarship $26k per year and other need based financial aid. Plus $8k in loans! 34 ACT 1420 SAT and 4.12W GPA, great ECs and recommendations. But it is still substantially more than our EFC and what we were hoping to pay. We did not know about the STEM scholarship and I’m not sure if she fits the desired demographics, even if they would accept a late application. Seems like a nice school but unfortunately may just be too expensive.

Yeah, I’m planning on running both if I end up going there.

I am waitlisted. Does anybody know the enrollment stats of waitlisted students? I am worried about the chances.

Last year they had 927 people on the waitlist but did not admit any of those, they filled up their class from regular admits. It’s possible that they under-enrolled this year in response to that, so I would expect to see some waitlist admits but not a lot.

Is anyone else doing an Orange and Blue accepted student visit on Friday? My S is so excited to see all Gettysburg has to offer.
