Accepted :)

Congratulations, IBinLux!

Congrats to IBinLux and the other internationals who are hearing good news today.

I called about an hour ago and they told me they would email me my letter in a while… Is this a bad sign? Why can’t they just tell me?

Thanks and congrats @IBinLux

@IBinLux, how did you find out?

Does “some time this afternoon” mean later than 7 PM? Never have I heard of colleges notifying their applicants this late… Come on Bates!

@inaweoflacs - did you check your SPAM folder?

@BTMell haha yes, thanks!

grin You never know…

Congrats to all the students who got accepted to Bates during RD. I suggest if you are at all interested in attending Bates definitely stay on the waitlist. So many students have been waitlisted to numerous schools this and every year so you never know what will happen. In 2010 Bates took 102 kids off the waitlist and close to 50% were accepted off the list (200 plus) accepted to remain on the waitlist. Bates requires that you send a letter stating that you wish to remain on the waitlist. If Bates is your number one choice and you will definitely attend if accepted please don’t be afraid to tell them you are committed to Bates. You should also follow up with the admissions rep from your area and send additional info about yourself if you have something to share…Good luck to you all.

My son is an international student living outside of the US.
Received an email today. Accepted!

We attended accepted student open house yesterday and my son did an overnight visit Thursday - both were excellent experiences. The overnight visit gave him a real flavor of Bates and the students there. The open house was very well done and gave us a taste of many aspects at Bates (we did visit before) plus it was fun meeting other parents. Successful? Yes! My son is now officially a member of the class of 2017. I couldn’t be prouder! It feels like a great match.

Congratulations, BTMell! We are going with my D on the 26th. We were there before and loved Bates, and I am hoping this visit will seal the deal. She is visiting two other schools as well this month, but Bates is number 1 as of right now. Everything seemed right for her. I think I am as excited as she is!

Receive my FA package yesterday, it was pretty generous!
