So, I got rejected from Columbia, which is something I’ve taken the time since 6pm yesterday to deal with. I’ve accepted it it and turned my focus onto other colleges already, but something’s bugging me. I went onto the Common App website yesterday before results were sent out to work on another application, and I noticed my documents were only submitted, not downloaded (they still aren’t). I know that they have to be downloaded to be looked at so, uh, did they somehow not even look at my application? Is there another reason that might have happened? Should I call and see what’s up? It’s desperate, but I was so dedicated to going to this college. If there’s a sliver of a chance a mistake was made, I can’t just forget about it.
Also, congratulations to everyone who did get in! I wish everybody the best of luck, I’m sure you’ll all do amazingly well. For others like myself, we just have to keep our heads up!
All of the documents? My parent ED agreement (along with a lot of others’) was not downloaded. However, if all of them were only submitted and not downloaded, I would call ASAP and see what the situation is.
Things that my counselor sent like my ED agreement, school report, and recommendations were downloaded, but there’s no indication that my actual application and my writing supplements were. Would there have been?
Sorry if these are simple questions – I’m the oldest in a family of immigrants, we have zero clue how to go about this stuff.
@Colleqe I totally understand. Went through the same thing. Unfortunately, the only things that mention whether they are downloaded are the ones you have. The actual application does not show it.
