They Haven't Gotten Any of my Stuff!

I sent my early decision application to Columbia in late October; the Common Application website says Columbia downloaded it on 10/25/10. Yet for some reason I got an email today saying that I that my application was incomplete. The Columbia Application tracker says that Columbia hasn't received my Columbia Application Supplement or my personal essay.

I must say, I am mystified. How on earth could Columbia lose documents that I sent online? What do you guys think I should do?

my school sent my transcripts, secondary school report and ed agreement in one big envelop. on their tracker they said they received my SR but not ed agreement and transcripts. they emailed me to fax duplicate copies.

^ Exactly same here. I spent 28 dollars to send them express, too. What a waste!

@OP: That really sucks! How can they miss on-line common app?

@Phillybob. I’m in the same boat. Those exact documents are missing yet everything was sent in one envelope. Like prjiki, I spent a lot to send my mail as priority. Should I call them? When do you all think you all would draw the line and contact them. Thanks all for your time.

@anthon: Like philly, I too recieved an email from Columbia asking to fax the missing documents. It asked to just fax whatever shows missing on ‘tracking’ rather than contacting admission office. Due date is Wednesday 24th. You could post-mail them, too, but they preferred fax, as long as I remember. I faxed mine last night. You had better check your email/spam again.

this is why phillybob and company should submit these things online…like it told you to.

and OP, keep in mind this is columbia’s first time ever handling the common app system. some things are going to go wrong, unfortunately. and i’m sure they realize that as well. my suggestion to you is to call or email admissions asking whether they would like you to fax your things over. the only reason they may say no is because the files are probably somewhere but they have to find them. i’m sure it’ll all turn out fine, relax :)

@prjiki. I did receive that mail Thursday. However, I want to wait until Monday to know whether to fax it. I’m sure they would sort out the documents I sent eventually because I do know they have a lot to do this time around. Is this wise?

Me too :frowning: I just got an email today telling me that they are missing something. So i checked my application status online, and the only thing that is not avaliable is my score report from collegeboard (which is supposed to be sent with my november SAT IIs) so i dont know whats going on >__< is the system lagging (because they received my ED agreement on the 17th)?..can someone help me ):
